Recruiters have already noticed Sunlake kicker Connor Gilboy’s quick transition to football.
The Seahawks’ soccer star performed well at a recent Florida camp, finishing second among more than 70 participants, Sunlake coach Bill Browning said. That got the Gators’ attention, and UF is keeping in touch with Gilboy.
“I think as we get some film on him to be able to send out, more schools should get interested,” Browning said.
Gilboy was an all-North Suncoast soccer player last winter, racking up 27 goals as a junior. He booted all of his kickoffs into the end zone in the preseason game and hit both extra points in the Seahawks’ 44-6 win over Hudson in the season opener.
