Joey Ivie, Pasco (6-foot-5, 265 pounds)

The latest: The junior defensive lineman now holds offers from all of the state’s power programs after Florida extended an offer Monday, Pirates coach Tom McHugh said in a text message. The Gators’ offer came three days after UF scouted Pasco’s first day of full-pads practice. West Virginia also offered Ivie on Monday, McHugh said. Ivie landed an offer from FSU on Friday. And if you haven’t seen his weightlifting video – at 315 pounds – below, give it a click.

Offers: UMass, Western Kentucky, Iowa State, FIU, Bowling Green, Purdue, Texas Tech, Miami, USF, Mississippi State, Georgia Southern, FSU, UF, West Virginia

Last season: Ivie was second on the team with 53 tackles during the regular season. He also had eight sacks and forced two fumbles. He was at his best during the defensive line’s dominant performance against Jesuit in the Class 5A region final.

Bottom line: Ivie was one of Pasco’s most underrated players during its run to the state semifinal but is becoming a household name in recruiting circles. He’s strong and quick off the line and has great potential. Expect him to be one of Tampa Bay’s top linemen this season.
