ST. PETERSBURG — Admiral Farragut beat Calvary Christian 35-21 behind a strong second-half offensive outburst.

Both defenses dominated in the first half, and the teams went into halftime scoreless.

On the opening drive the Warriors picked up four consecutive first downs before quarterback Conor Regan was intercepted on a third-down pass.

After the interception return the Blue Jackets had great field position, but AFA (3-2, 1-1) gave the ball right back as quarterback Dalton Collins was intercepted in the end zone.

A fumble in the end zone ended a promising second-quarter drive for Calvary (4-2, 0-1).

The second half was a complete change of pace as the teams combined to score eight touchdowns.

Running back Napoleon Maxwell led the way for Admiral Farragut, picking up 171 all-purpose yards. He scored three touchdowns, including rushes of 35 and 21 yards, and also catching a 35-yard touchdown pass. Collins was 8-of-12 for 145 yards with two touchdowns. He also had 52 yards rushing on seven carries.

Jeremy Wood had a big game for Calvary, finishing 9-of-13 with 85 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran 12 times for 76 yards, including a 9-yard run in the fourth quarter.
