Bradenton Christian 35, Canterbury 14: Bradenton Christian stunned Canterbury to throw the 2A-5 district race into a jumble. Bradenton Christian (2-3, 2-2) led 21-14 at halftime and scored two more touchdowns after the break to pull the upset.

“We just didn’t play too well,” Canterbury coach Bill Jones said. “Bradenton Christian was real physical up front and had us on our heels on defense. They just beat us up front and won the battle.”

Canterbury running back Brent O’Neal rushed for 203 yards on 17 carries and had a 70-yard touchdown run in the first half.
DaSean Thomas returned an interception 60 yards for Canterbury’s other touchdown.

The loss is the first for Canterbury, which drops to 4-1 and 3-1 in district play.
