When/where: 7 p.m. Thursday at Al Lang Field

Breakdown: This game is for the Mayor’s Cup, which matches two rivals within the St. Petersburg City limits. The Spartans (8-1, 7-1) have already secured the runnerup spot in Class 5A, District 8, but there is incentive considering Lakewood’s Cory Moore has not beaten St. Petersburg in four years as coach. The Green Devils (4-5, 2-3) are out of the playoffs and view this one as their bowl game.

Who’s hot: Spartans receiver Rodney Adams, who started at quarterback last week, threw for 52 yards and ran for 111 in a win over Spoto.

Rodney Page’s pick: Green Devils are fired up but Spartans win close one. Lakewood 21-18.

Bob Putnam’s pick: If the Spartans are going to beat their rival, this is their best shot. Lakewood 23-19.
