ST. PETERSBURG — Kabriel Jackson ran for two touchdowns as the visiting Rebels gave coach Shannon Brooks his first win a week after narrowly missing out in an overtime loss to Dunedin.

“It feels good to win and for the kids to experience it,” Brooks said.

Dixie Hollins held Northeast to 164 yards of offense and six first downs and forced two turnovers.

“Goose eggs are hard to do,” Brooks said. “The defense did great and played together as a unit.”

Jacquez Hill had an interception and caught five passes for 110 yards and a touchdown for the Rebels.

All of the scoring came during the first half. Jackson, who had 54 rushing yards and 25 receiving, scored on runs of 5 and 4 yards. Tyrie Adams was 10-of-16 for 145 yards and a touchdown.

The Vikings’ Keith Harrington ran for 61 yards on 25 carries and threw for 57 yards after starter Markus Purdy left with a rib injury.
