Seffner Christian started Friday night’s game playing as well as it had all season. Quarterback Tanner Richardson capped the

Crusaders’ 14-play, 74-yard opening drive with a 1-yard touchdown run on fourth and goal and added a 32-field goal in the second quarter.

But Father Lopez scored 22 unanswered to win 22-9.

Despite falling to 0-3 in its inaugural campaign, Seffner Christian showed flashes of potential early on, but a go-ahead field goal as the first half ended took away the Crusaders’ momentum.

“We’re just not doing the things we need to win football games,” Seffner Christian coach Steve Lewis said. “But that will come with time and I know that.”
