Former Mitchell star Tate Humphrey has signed a scholarship to attend North Alabama and is headed to school Tuesday, he said Monday afternoon.
Humphrey played at West Hills (Calif.) College the past two seasons and earned Northern California Football Association all-conference honors playing quarterback last season.
"I'm going to start spring ball," Humphrey said. "I'm trying to get that starting spot."
Humphrey threw for 1,355 yards, nine touchdowns and eight interceptions in 2009. He rushed for 373 yards and two touchdowns.
As a Mitchell senior in 2007, Humphrey threw for 1,401 yards, 13 touchdowns and six interceptions.
