The Golden Eagles’ running game proved to be too much for the Mustangs (1-3, 0-1) in a Class 2A-5 game.

IRC held a 14-0 lead at halftime thanks to a 1-yard touchdown by Theo Anderson in the first quarter and a 65-yard Zeke McGaughy run in the first. McGaughy scored again in the third on a 5-yard run.

The Eagles (2-2, 1-1) capitalized on a Mustangs mistake to score their fourth touchdown. Chris Licea recovered a fumble in the end zone to make it 27-0. Anderson rounded out the scoring in the third quarter with a 15-yard run, his second touchdown of the game.
