INDIAN ROCKS BEACH — It was a battle between the air and ground, but ultimately turnovers proved the winner as Indian Rocks Christian stopped Cambridge Christian 53-14 Friday night.

Garrett Young, in his first game back since injuring his collarbone before the season, completed 21 passes on 41 attempts for 293 yards — including touchdown passes to Robbie Robertson and Trevor Smith. But it was not enough against a Golden Eagles (3-1) offense that put 380 yards on the ground and balanced it with its own air attack that added three touchdowns on 124 yards.

Young threw three interceptions, but only one led to an IRC touchdown when Zeke McGaughy broke three tackles to sprint 36 yards down the middle to put the Golden Eagles up 40-14 in the third quarter. McGaughy finished with two touchdowns, but it was Damian King who made a habit of hitting the end zone four times, three off passes from Matt Kulaga.

Robbie Robertson had 198 yards receiving for Cambridge (3-2). McGaughy had 139 yards receiving for IRC.
