Jefferson senior defensive lineman Tyriq McCord, one of the nation’s top defensive end recruits, has finalized his official visits schedule.
McCord, a four-star recruit who is ranked the nation’s 71st-best overall prospect and seventh-best weakside defensive end prospect by Rivals.com, made his first official visit to South Carolina two weekends ago.
He plans to make his final four official visits to Miami (Dec. 2), Georgia (Dec. 16), USC (Jan. 13) and TCU (Jan. 20), Jefferson defensive coordinator Ricky Sailor told the Times.
McCord also plans to make an unofficial visit to Florida this weekend.
Even though he won’t have made all of his visits, McCord has agreed to announce his oral commitment at the US Army All-American Bowl on Jan. 7 in San Antonio, Texas. The game will be broadcast nationally on NBC.
The 6-foot-3, 230-pound McCord finished his senior season with 59 tackles and 11 1/2 sacks, as well as three forced fumbles and one interception. He also made 14 receptions for 276 yards and a touchdown playing tight end.
