Land O'Lakes defensive line Gary Myrick was ejected from the Gators 42-14 win against Sunlake.

Myrick could be suspended by the Florida High School Association for up to six weeks based on the official's report of the altercation. It is unclear if he will be suspended for this week's game against Mitchell.

Both teams play in Class 3A, District 7 and the winner will advance to the playoffs.

Gators coach Matt Kitchie said Myrick was ejected in the third quarter for intentionally stepping on an opposing player.

Asked if he would appeal a suspension, Kitchie said, "I don't know. He's guilty. I would appeal it if it was a judgement call, but he stepped on the guy."

Myrick entered Friday's game leading the Gators with 8.5 sacks. He also had 42 tackles. Myrick also accounted for all but three of the Gators' punts this season.

Asked about the potential impact Myrick's absence would have, Kitchie said, "I don't know. I honestly don't know. It's something we'll have to figure out."
