Will Irwin, Land O'Lakes' leading receiver, has been suspended for this week's Wesley Chapel game.

Gators coach Matt Kitchie said in a text message Irwin has "broken team rules." He also confirmed Irwin will return for next week's huge Class 3A, District 6 game at Pasco.

Last week, Kitchie benched starting quarterback Stevie Weatherford for a similar infraction. Weatherford will return this week.

Irwin has caught a team leading 14 passes for 268 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for two touchdowns against Anclote.
