The Packers relied on their running game to beat the Pirates 42-7 Friday in a Class 6A, District 7 game.
Largo running back Jarvis Stewart ran for four touchdowns, and the Packers had a shutout going until allowing a score late in the fourth quarter.
About the only concern in the game was the health of quarterback Juwan Brown, who left late in the first quarter because of a bruised shoulder.
Largo coach Rick Rodriguez said Brown should be fine and the move was made more as a precautionary measure. Before Brown left, he had recorded an interception, run 40 yards for a score and thrown a 40-yard touchdown pass to Reggie Moore.
