ST. PETERSBURG — Largo rolled over Northeast in the first game of the season, 46-0.

With the exception of their final possession, when they ran out the clock, the Packers scored a touchdown every time they had the ball.

Jarvis Stewart opened the scoring early in the first quarter with a 7-yard run. He added touchdown runs of 2, 1 and 4 yards before halftime.

Stewart finished with 93 yards on 13 carries and five touchdowns.

On defense, Largo limited the Vikings to 71 yards rushing and negative yards passing as the Packers left little time for Northeast quarterback Charlie Krasuski. Vikings running back Roe Wright gained 50 yards on 15 carries.

First-year quarterback Donavan Hale was 9-of-14 for 124 yards and a 20-yard touchdown to Reggie Campbell. The Packers’ final score came in the third quarter, as running back John Clark carried the ball on all nine plays, including a 3-yard run into the end zone.

“We’re going to be good,” said first-year QB Hale. “Now we have to get ready for East Lake.”
