After an 0-2 start, Lennard coach George Edington was not pleased. He thought his team was better than how it had performed, and he implored his players to prove him right.

“I pretty much told them it was time to man up and play some football,” he said. “We’ve been kind of soft over the last couple of games, so I really challenged them to step it up.”

Lennard (1-2) responded with a 27-0 shutout of Middleton on Friday. It was the Longhorns’ first victory over the Tigers (0-3) in three years.

Running backs Kaylab Philips and Victor Williams scored for Lennard.
