LITHIA — On Newsome’s senior night, senior Zac Slater had an Ironman performance by throwing a touchdown and scoring on a one-handed interception to help the Wolves beat Riverview 31-7.

The Wolves displayed a little trickery with a reverse pass from Slater to Tyson Mills for 49-yard touchdown. Later in the quarter Cole Schaller found Bruce Anderson for a 31-yard touchdown. Newsome running back Chris Bryant got in on the scoring by adding touchdowns of 3 and 50 yards before the half.

The Sharks came out in the third quarter by gaining four first downs, then a 16-yard score from  fullback Fred McCoy.

To close out the game, Slater intercepted a pass from Zach Joslin, running it 45 yards to pay dirt for the final margin.

“The interception topped it off and I did it without my boys,” he said.
