Things started poorly but ended well for the Mustangs, who improved to 2-4. Northside fumbled the opening punt and gave Bradenton Christian the ball on the 4-yard line. But the defense did not allow a touchdown and the offense cruised from there.
Kamen Wilmington rushed nine times for 188 yards and a touchdown and Fiante Bell added 121 yards and a touchdown to lead the running attack. Freshman quarterback Griffin Alstott, coach Mike Alstott’s son, was 6-for-11 for 99 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed five times for 17 yards.
The Mustangs will try to make it two straight next week against Keswick Christian.
