CLEARWATER — Jonah Fiskaa ran for 133 yards, including a 91-yard run that set up a touchdown, as Palm Harbor University made easy work of Clearwater 42-0 Friday night.

Fiskaa wasn’t the only one with a big rushing night. Demetri Royer tallied 88 yards while quarterback Tyler Kaminski added 75 as the Hurricanes posted 389 yards total offense while holding Clearwater to a net zero yards.

PHU did all of its scoring in the first half, depending almost completely on the run. Kaminski, who finished with 66 yards in the air on nine attempts, had only one throw in the first half — a 36-yard pass to Shane Dixon with 3:52 remaining in the second quarter that put the Hurricanes up 35-0.

Clearwater managed just 9 yards on the ground, led by quarterback Jordan Leston. The sophomore finished 4-of-13 passing for a negative-9 yards, including an early first-quarter interception that gave the Hurricanes excellent field position at the Tornadoes’ 26-yard line. Two plays later, Royer broke through Clearwater’s defensive line in a 20-yard sprint that put Palm Harbor University up 14-0.

Clearwater did fight back with some strong kickoff returns, including a 37-yard scamper by Adam Harris late in the second that gave the Tornadoes their best field position of the night at its own 41. The offense, however, couldn’t answer, and were forced to punt five plays later after gaining just 9 yards.
