PINELLAS PARK — Fireworks during the pregame ceremony continued on the field as Pinellas Park lit up the scoreboard for eight touchdowns in a 56-0 rout of Northeast to remain unbeaten.

The Patriots reached the end zone on their first four possessions and went into halftime leading 28-0. Two touchdowns runs by Kal-el Williams and Oscee Calhoun were followed by two scoring passes by Angel Addison.

In all, the Pinellas Park (6-0, 2-0) scored six times on the ground and amassed 424 yards rushing. The defense was every bit as dominant as the offense, holding Northeast (0-5, 0-2) to 116 total yards.

With the Vikings’ defense playing to take away one side of the field, running back Pierre Johnson was able to swing to the weak side and gain big chunks of yardage. Johnson carried nine times for 166 yards and two scores. Calhoun also had two touchdowns on the ground, on runs of 38 and 28 yards.

“We had to take what’s given to us,” said Patriots coach Kenny Crawford. “We blocked for each other and we played hard.”
