The Knights (3-5, 3-3) kept their hopes of a .500 season alive when senior Brandon Peters intercepted a two-point conversion attempt .

“Our defense played awesome,” first-year coach Shawn Taylor said. “We shut them down pretty good.”

Robinson scored twice on big plays, first on a long run by Javaughn Johnson in the second quarter, and then on a long touchdown pass from Darius Autry to Jahrvis Davenport in the fourth quarter.

Chamberlain (4-4, 4-2) answered with a long score  and went for the win and a two-point conversion . But a jump pass fell to Peters, and the Chiefs likely fell out of the playoff picture in Class 6A, District 8.

Terrance Baldwin also had an interception for Robinson.
