SEFFNER — Seffner Christian capped off the perfect senior night, beating Seven Rivers Christian 57-0 Thursday.

Seffner kicked off scoring with Robbie Shell’s 53-yard touchdown run, followed by quarterback Caleb Newman’s 80-yard TD run for a 15-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Crusader defense was also powerful, thanks to the sibling combo of Ryan and Christian Becker, as well as Trent Puleo and first-year player Aaron Weber.

Freshman Kami Mackey ran in a 14-yard TD early in the second quarter, and Newman connected with Shell on a 20-yard touchdown pass before running 73 yards for another score. The Crusaders led 36-0 at the half.

Mackey started the second half by returning a kickoff 80 yards. Another TD pass by Newman to Shell brought the third quarter to an end with the score 50-0.

Nick White scored his first touchdown to cap scoring. Senior Dillon Kocsis also was at the top of his game, not missing a single extra-point attempt — even after hurting his ankle late in the third quarter.

Shell went over the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the season.
