Seffner Christian's long road trip was worth it, as the Crusaders set a team record for points and improved to 3-0.
Caleb Newman threw for three touchdowns and ran for another, and Robbie Shell ran for 180 yards on eight carries. Shell scored two touchdowns on the ground, including a 50-yard run to make it 56-6 in the third quarter. He added two receiving touchdowns that closed the half at 49-6.
Nahshon Benoit had a 32-yard interception return as part of Seffner Christian’s 28-0 first quarter. Trent Puleo led the Crusaders with 10 tackles, and brothers Dalton and Dillon Kocsis each had six tackles and a sack. Dillon converted all nine extra-point kicks.
Marcus Richardson completed the scoring with a 24-yard touchdown run. Jamari Johnson and Tyler Flatt also scored.
