Shorecrest 42, St. Stephen’s 27: St. Stephen’s (0-5) jumped off to a 13-0 lead in the first quarter. But the defense couldn’t stop Shorecrest, which put up 35 unanswered points to take a 35-13 lead late into the third quarter.

Shorecrest scored 21 points in less than eight minutes. The onslaught began when Alex Drexler scored the first of his four touchdowns on a 9-yard run.

The fumbles continued for St. Stephen’s in the second half. The Falcons coughed up the ball on their first possession. One play later, Drexler broke free for 65 yards for his third touchdown. He scored his final TD on a 26-yard run for a 35-13 lead with 2:08 left in the third quarter.

Drexler finished with 153 yards rushing on seven carries. He was the spearhead of a Charger ground game that rolled up 371 yards,. Garrett Schulte pounded the Falcons with 87 tough yards on 14 carries.
