The Spartans got 128 yards rushing from Josh Battles in cruising past the Falcons, who finish their season 0-10. Spoto won its third straight after an 0-7 start and due to their 1-1 district record the Spartans are headed to the playoffs.

But the opponent will be pretty tough.

“Lake Wales is not who we played tonight,” said Spoto coach Dale Caparaso, who said he has been studying film of the Polk County playoff opponent for two weeks. “We’ll have to tackle well. But the guys are excited.”

James Bethea had a kick return for a touchdown along with an interception for Spoto. Leto’s scores were by Marcus Palma and Isaiah Dorsey.
