TRINITY — Sunlake returned from a bye week with a dominating 35-7 win against Mitchell on Friday night.

Sunlake (4-0) ran four plays on its first drive and scored to set the tone.

Seahawks quarterback Cameron Stoltz was 9-for-15 with 198 yards and three touchdowns for 45, 52 and 51 yards. He also had a 29-yard touchdown run.

Mike Lopez ran for the other touchdown, going 75 yards on the Seahawks’ last drive to make it 35-0.

Sunlake’s Paul Scott recorded one sack of Spencer Whittaker.

Whittaker did not attempt a pass and the Mustangs’ offense was held to 177 total yards. Mitchell lost two of three fumbles.

Mitchell’s Christian Trinidad came on during the last drive and had two rushes, including a 50-yard touchdown, to give the Mustangs (3-2) a late boost. His other run was for 13 yards.

Freddie Jones blocked a late Sunlake field-goal attempt and returned it 60 yards. But the drive ended with a missed field goal.
Jones rushed for 54 yards and Mordell Holley added 30 for the Mustangs.

Mitchell’s Codi Folsom had five punts for 260 yards.
