The Crusaders dominated to win their first game of the season, running out to a 50-6 halftime lead.
Tampa Catholic (1-4) ran for 276 yards on just 19 carries, led by Trevor Register’s 121 yards on five carries. Jordan Rich-Rogers added 74 rushing yards and fullback Hunter Joyer had 100 yards total offense (37 rushing, 63 receiving) and two touchdowns.
Quarterback Conner Louis also completed 6 of 10 passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns, while return man Austin Griffin scored two special teams touchdowns —a 55-yard punt return and an 84-yard kickoff return.
“It takes a lot of pressure off the kids’ shoulders,” coach Bob Henriquez said. “Clearly our opponent was overmatched, but we performed well in all phases of the game. We showed we’re capable of playing four quarters.”
