Wesley Chapel posted its vacant football head coaching position Monday morning on the Pasco County Schools Web site. It had already posted the position on the Florida High School Athletic Association job board last month.

Wesley Chapel athletic director Steve Mumaw said in an e-mail he had received interest from 88 people as of Monday morning. Mumaw said once the advertisement expires, school administrators will sit down and begin to select candidates for interviews.

Wesley Chapel's vacany is one of five on the North Suncoast. Zephyrhills reported it would begin interviewing candidates this week for its opening. Central athletic director Jeff Spivey did not immediately respond to an e-mail, but has previously said the search will begin this week.

Fivay High, a school slated to open on State Road 52 in Hudson next fall, has not selected a principal as of Monday. Also opening next fall is Weeki Wachee High in Hernando County.
