Zephyrhills has announced its five finalists for the football head coaching search.

One person not on the list is Hudson coach Mark Nash, who withdrew his name from consideration.

The finalists include three Zephyrhills alumni in Troy Hochstetler, Reggie Roberts and Nick Carroll. Also among the five is Rashad West from Winter Park and Pasco assistant Tony Lister.

Hochstetler was a co-interim head coach last season after the school fired Jerrell Cogmon. Roberts played football with Cogmon at Bethune-Cookman. Carroll is an assistant at Sunlake and has also worked with former Chamberlain legend Billy Turner. West was a quarterback at Southeast Missouri State, and Lister has been an assistant at Wesley Chapel and worked alongside Pasco offensive coordinator Brad Starling.

Zephyrhills principal Steve Van Gorden said the nine-person committee will hold additional interviews through Tuesday before announcing the new coach Jan. 22.

"All five I would hire in a heartbeat," Van Gorden said. "We want to make sure this is the fit we need. The situation we were dealt with (former coach Jerrell) Cogmon was not good. We need to make sure we get the right person."
