As principal Steve Van Gorden announced last week, Zephyrhills has posted its football head coaching position on the Florida High School Athletic Association job board.
What was unclear at the time was if the position would simply be a supplement, or if a teaching position would also be available. Now we know. The advertisement states the head coaching job will be tied in with a teaching job.
In recent years, many coaching vacancies have been offered without teaching positions. That's been a caveat on both sides - administrators want coaches on campus to monitor student-athletes throughout the day; coaches want to work where they coach so they can interact with student-athletes on a regular basis.

Zephyrhills High School in Zephyrhills is seeking to hire a Varsity Football Head Coach. There will be a teaching position with this job.
