Orson Charles wasn't the only Hillsborough County alum headed to the NFL.

While the former Plant star had his fourth-round selection by the Cinncinati Bengals televised and debated by ESPN, former Blake DE Ryan Davis quietly signed a free agent deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Davis, who was an honorable mention selection by the Times for the 2006 all-county team, stared at Bethune-Cookman, where he was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year as a senior after recording 21.5 tackles for loss and 12 sacks.

He also posted 65 tackles (40 solo), eight forced fumbles, 17 QB pressures and two fumble recoveries in his final season. For his career, the 6-foot-2, 261-pound Davis recorded 22 sacks and 49.5 tackles for loss.
