Emmerson Clarke, a 2009 Boca Ciega grad, was named Defensive Player of the Week by the Heart of America Conference. Clarke plays for Baker University, an NAIA school in Baldwin City, Kansas.

In the season opener against Ottawa (Kansas) University, Clarke recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown and also returned an interception 46 yards for a TD. He ended the game with eight tackles and a forced fumble. Baker won the game 27-20.

Clarke is a junior linebacker for the Wildcats. He was a Times all-Pinellas County honorable mention selection as a senior at Boca Ciega.
