Former East Lake ace Eric Hanhold has appeared in three games for Florida this baseball season, but Sunday was his first start. Hanhold pitched three innings against Florida Gulf Coast and allowed six hits and two earned runs. The Gators lost 7-4 in 11 innings.
Hanhold has pitched 4.1 innings thus far and has given up eight hits and three earned runs. He has a 6.23 ERA. Hanhold was a first team All County selection last season as a senior. He was 7-3 with a 1.14 ERA. Hanhold also has the distinction of being the last player drafted in the 2012 MLB draft.
