Former NCT, Florida Gators WR Ja'Juan Story headed to TCU Horned Frogs

Former Nature Coast star Ja’Juan Story is heading west.

The four-star talent is transferring from Florida to TCU, Sharks assistant coach Rob Kazmier said Friday afternoon.

The receiver settled on the Horned Frogs after visiting campus this week, and he wrote on Facebook that he leaves for Fort Worth on Sunday. USF was Story’s other finalist, his uncle, Rudy Story, told the Times' Greg Auman on Friday morning.

Story was ESPN’s sixth-ranked receiver for the recruiting class of 2011. As a senior, the 6-foot-4 Story threw three touchdown passes, rushed for 847 yards and 12 scores and tallied 123 yards and two TDs as a receiver. He redshirted for the Gators last fall.

Story is already familiar with two key figures at TCU. His friend Jamie Byrd starred at Pasco and redshirted as a safety with the team last season, and new Frogs linebackers coach Randy Shannon recruited Story when Shannon was the head coach at Miami.

After initially agreeing to move from the Mountain West to the Big East, TCU joins the Big 12 this season. The Horned Frogs have won 11 games in each of the last four seasons and appeared in two BCS bowl games, including a win over Wisconsin in the 2010 Rose Bowl.
