Madison McNary, a sprinting star at Palm Harbor University, has transferred from the University of Florida to Ohio State University.

"It's just better for me," McNary said.

McNary, a two-time Times all-Pinellas County female track athlete of the year (2007-08), won state titles in the 100 and 200 meters at the Class 4A meet in Winter Park in 2007. She signed with Florida before her senior year. McNary chose the Gators in part because it was close to home.

The past two seasons, she ran sprints and relays. McNary said she will run the 100, 200 and 400 with the Buckeyes.
