Sunlake class of 2009 swimmer Brad Morrison was one of a Florida State-record six men's swimmers and divers named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team on Wednesday.

Morrison is a sophomore at Florida State specializing in the back stroke. He placed 13th at the ACC Championships in the 200 back this season in a time of 1:47.37. His top time in that event during his collegiate career is 1:46.84.

As a senior at Sunlake, Morrison won a state championship (Class 2A) in the 100 back after touching in 51.87. He was third in the state in the 100 back as a sophomore and junior.

Morrison was the 2008 St. Petersburg Times' All-North Suncoast boys swimmer of the year.

To be eligible for the All-ACC Academic Team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA throughout their academic career while also obtaining a 3.00 GPA during the previous semester. Morrison is majoring in biochemistry.
