Alonso DE Anthony Chickillo, a highly touted rising senior, picked up offers last week from schools in the South, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest and West Coast.
They came from Georgia Tech, Iowa State, Southern California and Virginia Tech.
Asked how many offers he now has, Chickillo admitted he had lost count. “I don’t even know any more,” he said.
No schools have emerged as front-runners, said Chickillo, who also has offers from programs such as Florida, Florida State, Miami and Nebraska.
“I’m just taking it slow,” the 6-foot-4, 230-pounder said.
Chickillo, who recently attended junior days at UF and FSU, was particularly pleased about getting the USC offer.
“USC is one of those elite programs,” he said. “It’s the elite of the elite. It’s one of those offers that made me say, ‘Wow.’ It’s starting to get heated up.”
