Academy at the Lakes has hired four new coaches, Wildcats athletic director Tom Haslam announced Wednesday.

Brian Gonzales is the new volleyball coach after serving as an assistant at Cardinal Mooney and Lakewood Ranch. He’s also served as the head coach at Suncoast Volleyball Club in Sarasota since 2005.

Ted Hassenfelt will coach boys soccer. The former player at Davidson was a varsity boys and girls coach in North Carolina and also served as the head coach for FC Tampa from 2003-06.

Troy Williams has been hired to coach track and field. His experience includes a stint at Tampa Prep and time as the athletic director at Academy of the Holy Names.  He also lettered in cross country and track at the University of New Orleans.

AATL also promoted assistant coach Briana Jamison to lead the girls soccer team.
