Gaither DB Amani Oruwariye has orally committed to Vanderbilt, he announced Sunday evening on Twitter.

Oruwariye, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound senior holds more than a dozen offers and chose the Commodores over USF, UCF, Rutgers and Louisville, among others.

Oruwariye has broken up five passes and blocked three punts this fall. He also has 23 tackles, a touchdown reception and one interception for the 3-4 Cowboys.

The three-star recruit is ranked as the No. 92 player in the state by Rivals and 56th by 247Sports.

Oral commitments are non-binding until recruits sign letters of intent during their senior years.
