Oldsmar Christian 6-foot-7 forward Santoine Butler signed a letter of intent today with Gardner-Webb.

An intimidating presence in the paint for the Oldsmar boys basketball squad, Butler averaged a double-double last season, scoring 15 points and snagging ten rebounds a game.

In four preseason games this year for the Eagles, Butler has put up similar numbers with nine points, ten rebounds and five blocks per game.

Oldsmar coach Ryan Pannone said Butler also considered University of Tennessee Martin, Coastal Carolina and Radford.

Gardner-Webb, located in Boiling Springs, NC, is a Division I school playing in the Big South Conference.
