Land O'Lakes senior safety Darin Patmon has verbally committed to Columbia University, Gators coach Brian Wachtel said Sunday afternoon.

Patmon committed during his recruiting trip to the Ivy League school this weekend. He also had an offer from Division II Nebraska-Kearney.

The 6-foot, 180-pound Patmon recorded 55 tackles this season at safety and also spent time at running back. He blocked two punts against Mitchell and recovered two fumbles during the season. He was a second-team all-conference pick.
