Robinson all-purpose standout Frankie Williams, offensive guard Andrew Meddaugh and receiver Ruben Gonzalez all have received scholarship offers from Division I-AA power Georgia Southern.
Knights coach Mike DePue, whose talent-laden team embarks on a Class 2A state title quest with its first spring workout Saturday, announced the offers this afternoon. More offers could be forthcoming by the end of the month, at which time dozens of scouts likely will have made their way to Port Tampa.
Williams and Gonzalez teamed for 74 catches for 1,259 yards in 2009, when Robinson finished 10-3 and reached the 2A state semifinals. Williams and Meddaugh (6-foot-3, 245 pounds) were second-team 2A all-state picks; Gonzalez was an honorable mention.
