Gibbs has whittled its list of football coaching applicants to 10 finalists and will start interviews next week, athletic director Javan Turner said.

The finalists include former USF defensive coordinator Rick Kravitz, Largo defensive coordinator Jeremy Frioud and Gladiators defensive coordinator Robert Tirado.

The Gladiators have been looking for a coach to replace Antonio Knox, who resigned in January after two seasons. The school had more than 90 applicants for the job. The deadline passed two weeks ago. Turner said he hopes to have a coach in place within the next two weeks.

Here is the full list: Kravitz, Shane Wheeler (former head coach at now-defunct Si Tanka University in South Dakota), Recharde Goodwyn, Frioud, Anthony Givins, Tirado, Evan Cooper (former Philadelphia Eagles football player) and Thomas Balkcom (Georgia Tech football player on the 1990 national championship team, most recently an assistant at Savannah State).
