Girls Basketball: Jefferson's Wilson reaches 1,000-point mark

Jefferson forward Shayla Wilson scored her 1,000th career point in last week's 59-54 win over Plant, Dragons coach Jim Baxter said Thursday.

Wilson, a 6-foot-1 junior, is averaging a team-high 14.1 points and 10.1 rebounds a game for the Dragons (18-1).

She's the second member of Jefferson's starting five to join the 1,000-point club. Senior guard Laurie' Beaty scored her 1,000-point last season.
