Girls basketball: Plant G Kelly Brennan signs with Rollins

After Plant G Kelly Brennan scored her 1,000th career point in a Jan. 4 rout of Robinson, head coach Carrie Mahon said, "Somebody is going to get the most incredible present in the world when they get her."

And Wednesday morning, it was Rollins that landed Brennan, who signed her letter of intent in the Panthers' gymnasium.

A two-time Florida Athletic Coaches Association all-state selection and a second-team all-county selection by the Times this past season, Brennan, who stands at 5-foot-8, led Plant (19-5) with 12.3 points per game and also averaged 2.8 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 2.3 assists per contest. She will join a Rollins program coming off its first trip to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight.
