For the fourth time this season, Clearwater Central Catholic faced rival St. Petersburg Catholic.

Once again, the Marauders prevailed.

CCC swept the season series, winning the Class 2A region semifinal 2-0 Thursday to advance to next week’s region final.

The Marauders have been intent on beating their nemesis since losing to SPC in stunning fashion in last season’s district semifinals. Since that game, CCC has outscored the Barons 11-1, including three straight shutouts.

On Thursday, Kaitlin Parker scored both goals for the Marauders. The first came off a header in the first half. Parker scored the other by beating SPC goalkeeper Maggie Dalessio to the ball late in the second half and knocking it in.
