Steinbrenner golf standout Alex Milan, a junior, said Tuesday she has six finalists -- Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Wake Forest.

Not only that, but one of them currently leads.

“Tennessee,” Milan said.

The reasons, according to Milan?

-She loves UT coach Judi Pavon.

-UT is known for putting a high priority on women’s athletics.

-One of her best friends, Polk County native Erica Popson, plays for the Vols.

Milan said most, if not all, of the coaches from her favorites will watch her play in person at the Golfweek Invitational later this year near Orlando.

She hopes to make a commitment by next spring.
