Gulf lineman Bruce Hector is transferring to Robinson, Buccaneers coach Tom Carter confirmed Tuesday afternoon.
“He came in this morning real upset and cleaned out his locker,” Carter said.
Hector is transferring because his mother works near Robinson, Carter said.
Hector started last year at defensive line and offensive tackle as a sophomore. Carter said he worked hard in the offseason to bulk up his 6-foot-1 frame.
“He got bigger, got stronger,” Carter said. “You could see it in his chest and shoulders and everywhere.
“We’re losing experience and talent.”
