Gulf is looking for a new boys basketball coach after the resignation of Buck DeWitt, Buccaneers athletic director Travis DeWalt said Thursday.

DeWitt, 61, had coached Gulf since 2009. DeWalt said the coach resigned for personal reasons.

Gulf recently posted the coaching job online, and DeWalt said he hopes to fill it quickly.

“The sooner the better,” DeWalt said. “We want our kids to be working.”

DeWitt could not immediately be reached for comment.

Gulf is also looking for a head volleyball coach and a head girls golf coach after the district reallocated teachers.
