Gulf has promoted Clare Ennis to the Buccaneers’ head girls basketball coach, the school announced Monday.
Ennis was an assistant last season under Mike Quarto, the Times’ all-Suncoast coach of the year who resigned to pursue an administrative position.
Ennis inherits a Gulf team expected to be among the best in Pasco County. G/F Kayla Kivinski was the Times’ all-North Suncoast player of the year last season. The Buccaneers also return standout guards Kadejah Saunders and Lexy Schulman from a team that finished 28-3 and advanced to the Class 5A region finals.
Since 2003, Gulf has advanced to the playoffs seven times and won five district championships.
